ktech Sports Team Secures Third Place at the 2025 World Interuniversities Championships in Barcelona

kuwait Technical College (ktech) continues to reinforce its position as one of Kuwait’s leading institutions committed to empowering youth, following an outstanding international achievement by its sports team, which secured third place overall at the World Interuniversities Championships (WIUC) 2025, competing against 108 universities from around the world. This unprecedented accomplishment reflects the strength of the college’s investment in its students and athletes.

The championship was held in Barcelona, Spain, and brought together prestigious universities from across the globe in a highly competitive environment that demanded advanced athletic skills, physical endurance, and professional performance under international championship conditions.

The ktech team competed in three main sports disciplines:

  • Basketball
  • Futsal (Indoor Football)
  • Volleyball

The team delivered a high-level performance that enabled it to outperform some of the strongest university teams worldwide.

Final Rankings:

  • Futsal Team: 3rd place worldwide
  • Volleyball Team: 3rd place worldwide
  • Basketball Team: 5th place worldwide

The WIUC is considered one of the most prominent international university championships, bringing together elite student-athletes from various countries and featuring intense competition based on professionalism, advanced tactics, and high readiness. This achievement reflects the quality of athletic preparation at ktech and the strength of the supportive programs offered to its students.

Athletic Performance Highlights

  • Basketball: Strong dominance throughout the tournament, a well-earned advance to the final stages, and a commendable 5th-place finish.
  • Futsal: Disciplined tactical performance and exceptional fighting spirit that enabled the team to overcome top international competitors.
  • Volleyball: Outstanding team chemistry and professionalism, resulting in strong performances and a significant point margin in the final match.
